The importance of the simplest tool

I recently got a half time job in which this one day they required some of us making some illustrations, and I did know my smudge tool in Photoshop was wrong programmed so I thought I couldn't use it for really smudging. An illustrator (also professor) took a look at the tool and fixed that. I was so glad he thaught me about that because I feel I can do more stuff now, and now I feel more confident about my illustrations.
That tool is so powerful! don't you think?
